April 18, 2021 - Nicole and Ethan said "I do" on the beautiful Hawaiian Island of Kauai. The two originally planned to have a big home-town wedding; but, after the global pandemic hit, had to restructure their plans. Not wanting to wait any longer, they made the tough decision to downsize their guest list and do something a little out-of-the-box: a destination wedding in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. When Nicole first called to tell me her idea, I couldn't be more excited for her. Being in the industry as long as Zach and I have, we understand the benefits of doing something more intimate. And, that's exactly how it was. Nicole and Ethan's wedding was so intimate and so intentional. Every move we made throughout the day represented the two of them as a couple and celebrated the heck outta their love. We started the weekend on the Na Pali Coast, gasping at the extreme mountain ridge lines and soaking in the Kauai sun. We always love when our couple's add-on an Adventure Session. It's so fun to not only have the extra content for the video or the gallery, but to witness them in a more relaxed, natural environment. We were fortunate enough to be both the photographer and the videographer for this experience. Below, you'll have the chance to look through some of our favorite captures and watch Nicole and Ethan's wedding film. Looking to have your own destination wedding? Contact us, here!

Nicole and Ethan's review: "Where do I even begin!? When my husband and I first watched our wedding video, we cried the entire time. Even now (after watching it over and over), we still cry. Katie and Zach did an incredible job at capturing all of the love shared by me and Ethan as well as all of our family and friends. They captured the beauty of Kauai in such a breathtaking way! The video captured every moment I could have possibly asked for! They joined us on a Na Pali Boat Tour and captured the most amazing dolphin and underwater shots. Katie and Zach are the most talented individuals!! And not only that, they are wonderful people! They brought such joy to us the whole wedding day/weekend. They were encouraging and just a blast to be around. The pictures and video were more than I could have even asked for. I would 10/10 recommend to everyone to hire Katie and Zach. I have goosebumps just thinking about our day and now need to watch our video AGAIN. Katie and Zach, we love you guys and think the world of you both! Thank you for capturing our dream wedding day."
Meghan of Kauai Wedding Hair always does such a great job beautifying the girls! We have worked with her a few times now, and I always highly recommend her to all of our Hawaii brides. I mean, look how STUNNING Nicole looks! **Meghan is available for travel.
Nicole and Ethan's minimony took place in Waimea Canyon, Kauai. Zach and I searched and searched for the perfect spot for these two to say "I do". Location scouting can be hard, but so worth it, if you put in the work! Everyone ended up loving this secret spot.
Mona of Aloha Friday's Kauai is a fricken magician. I say that, because every wedding she's able to be apart of turns to MAGIC. How beautiful is this light canopy? Stunning! Destination Events Kauai also served the tastiest appetizers, meal, and drinks. Not to mention the cuteness factor of the drinks was a 10/10. I specifically remember sipping on a coconut mojito, thinking "wow. this is adorable!" Nicole and Ethan surprised their guests with a private lu'au, and everyone went wild. They ended their special night jumping into the pool from the second-story deck. Mom, dad, bride, groom - everyone! It was awesome.
